The Festival of Light--Diwali(30-Oct-2016)

Patwari Jee says, "Our India is land of festivals and traditions. Diwali (The Festival of Lights) is most popular and religious festival, celebrated in all India. I wish a Happy and Prosperous Diwali to all my Followers, Friends, Relatives and our team members. May Goddess Lakshmi bless all of you and fulfil your wishes in coming year "

Diwali is one of the most well-known South Asian religious festivals.

Celebrated by Hindus, Jains and Sikhs, it is known as the festival of lights, celebrating the victory of good over evil and light over darkness. Diwas (candle-lit lamps) are put inside and outside of homes and businesses.

There are many reasons people celebrate Diwali and the story of Prince Rama and Sita is one of them, often recited to children over the festival period.

Rama was exiled from his home for 14 years by his father, King Dashratha, who ruled over the kingdom of Ayodhya. Rama's stepmother Queen Kaikeyi had wanted her sons to become King, not Dashratha's eldest sons Rama and Lakshmana. She forced the King to send the two into exile. They obeyed and moved with Rama's wife Sita to live in the forest.

One day, the demon Ravana kidnapped Sita and it was up to Rama, his brother Lakshmana and the monkey king, Hanuman, to save her. After a fierce battle between Rama, Lakshmana and Hanuman with Ravana's armies, the demon was defeated. As 14 years had passed, they then returned home with Sita. Oil lamps were lit to guide them on their way home and to rejoice their victory

To Make Marriage Early

In case of a girl’s marriage getting delayed, make her wear new clothes during marriage talks. If you are short of good proposals to marry off the girl, give her to wear yellow clothes on Thursday and white clothes on Friday. If these clothes are new, that’s better. Do it for 4 weeks and you will surely get good proposals. Therefore, no cloth should be repeated. If marriage negotiation is breaking down repeatedly after reaching final stages, make it a point to put off shoes/slippers before entering the room where talks are taking place. At the moment when bride’s side is entering prospective groom’s household, girl’s parents and other well-wishers should put left or right foot first inside the house, keeping in mind the nostril from which they are breathing. When the parents go for marriage negotiation to groom’s house, girl dhould keep her hair open, not tie them. She should also be happy and offer sweets to them when they start. Boys and girls of marriageable age should put a bit of mehandi meant for bride or groom, whenever they get a chance to attend a marriage ceremony. For early marriage, the girl should keep fast for 16 consecutive Mondays and offer sacred water in a Shiva temple. She should dress up as Goddess Parvati, tie the knot between Shiva and Parvati and pray for early marriage. Marriage proposals will start pouring in. To get her wish for a suitable groom fulfilled, girl should worship Shiva-Parvati and complete one round of following mantra-
ऊँ नमः मनोभिलाषितं वरं देहि वरं ही ऊँ गोरा पार्वती देव्यै नमः”।
If one reads verses related to the marriage of Shiva and Parvati in the Balkand of Ramcharit Manas everyday, wishes of early marriage are fulfilled. Marriageable boys and girls should pour sacred water over shivaling and place 108 flowers over it, chanting the mantra Om Namah Shivaya and praying for early marriage, on Fridays. Also offer 21 Belpatras to Lord Shiva. Do it for 7 consecutive Fridays, marriage proposals will start coming in. On Thursdays, offer Kalangi ( Which is there at the top of the ‘Sehra’) in Vishnu Laxmi temple, along with 5 laddoos and pray for quick marriage.

Navratri Festival

Patwari jee Says ,"Navratri (9 days to Worship Godess nav Durga) are holy time to get ride of your all type of problems by doing some astro remedies. Here is a way to worship Nav Durga in these days from 1st to 9th.

There is a belief that the 9 types of grains like wheat, barley, etc. which are grown are indications of the 9 planets which are propitiated by the means of this ritual.

There is also a general belief that the Goddess is worshipped in the form of Durga during this period.

The 2nd and 3rd day are followed with daily Puja of the Goddess.

The 2nd Day is of the Devata Poojan. On this day the Goddess is worshipped with special sweets and flowers and prayers.

It has been mentioned in the Puranas that if the Goddess is worshipped during this period it confers lot of positive blessings on the person and removes the obstacles in his path.

Many people do a Saptashati saptah or read various Devi Mahatmya and related scriptures which bring them closer to the divine mother.

The third day is the day of Sapta Shati puja.

Since the Goddess is worshipped in various forms, this particular form depicts the fighting spirit of the divine mother, who is ever ready and willing to fight for her devotees and protect them.

The fourth day is the day of Akhanda Deepan. There is special importance for deepa pooja in this period and it is very important to keep the Deepa burning for all 9 days near the Place of worship.

The 5th day is the day of much importance and it is called Lalita Panchami.

It is also said that after the 3rd day, the 4th to 6th day is a period when the Divine Mother is worshipped in the form of the giver of Prosperity and Abundance. She is worshipped in the form of Laxmi and there is lot of joy and celebration in every household during this period.

The 6th day is the day of Mala Bandhana.

The 7th day is the day when people do a fasting for the entire day.

Generally many people fast completely and at times even abstain from water for the entire 9 days. But some of them drink coconut water and eat fruits during this entire period.

This is the day when people who have not done a fast for the entire 9 days may fast for one entire day to express their gratitude for the Divine Mother and to request her Blessing in the future.

Incidentally from the 7th day onwards it is the period when Maa Saraswati is worshipped for the next 3 days.

Actually Durga, Mahalaxmi and Saraswati are the three forms of the same divine mother or the feminine energy who has partaken in and supported the creation of the universe along with the Divine Supreme God.

The 7th day is also the day when Suvasini Puja is conducted.

On this day many households invite married daughters and neighbors to their family and do their puja, by giving Haldi Kumkum and fruits and similar things.

It is a belief that the Goddess is worshipped in their form.

The 8th day is the most important day. On this day the kumari puja is done.

It means that the Mother is worshipped in the form of an unmarried daughter or a small girl. On this day nine young girls below 10 years of age are called home and worshipped with the belief that the Goddess will receive the puja through them.

On this day there is a popular event called Ghagri Funkune.

Since the Goddess had been fighting unceasingly with the Demon Mhaishasur, it is a practice that her devotees keep awake during these nights and invoke her through dance and music and reading of scriptures etc. It is on the 8th night that many people get so enchanted by the Divine force of the mother, that they start speaking in tongues and guiding people. They dance ecstatically filled with the fervor and love of the Divine mother.

The 9th day is the day of Mantra Homa. On this day there is a big homa or sacrifice.

On this day a symbolic balidan is given to the Mother in the form of a fruit, and then a Homa or holy fire is lit in front of her.

This completes the 9 days of the Navratri.
